Tom has evolved and grown with the company over the past 20+ years. Dan Thebeau started the company, under the name Thebeau Consulting, in 1994. Tom started soon after. He was just a junior in High School at the time. He originally began drafting house plans and doing field tests. He quickly moved into the design and engineering side of the business. During his early years he also spent time working with the construction crews building residential homes and commercial buildings.
Tom expanded is skills by obtaining a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering and a Master’s Degree in Structural Engineering. This allowed Tom to get his Professional Engineering (PE) and Professional Structural Engineering (SE) Licenses. After obtaining these two licenses, he went back to school part time to finish additional college classes which allowed him to get his Professional Land Surveying (PLS) License.
The seven years of schooling and 20+ years of design and engineering experience has given Tom the ability to face and solve a wide range of problems. He has worked on projects in almost all aspects of engineering; from water rights, surveying, land development, civil projects, structures to HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems. He has designed projects from small residential remodels to large scale commercial projects.
After completing school in 2004 and obtaining his PE license in 2006, Tom took over supervision of all of the engineering for the company. In 2008 he started managing the company.
In November 2014 Tom, along with Josh and Mike, formed the company Iron Rock Engineering, Inc as the new banner to continue their work and passion; allowing Dan Thebeau to retire.
In July 2021, the three owners added a fourth partner and created Iron Rock Group, LLC. All have an immense passion for the fun and challenging projects that they continue to encounter and solve.
